Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's Lawyer threaten to sue the Lincoln Project group

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have threatened to sue The Lincoln Project over the billboards they erected in New York City's Times Square that associates them with the Trump administration’s failed COVID-19 response.

On Thursday, the political group - comprising of former Republicans - unveiled two giant billboards which showed Ivanka Trump and her husband 'smiling' over COVID deaths.

The first ad features Ivanka grinning as she raises her hands and gestures towards two separate coronavirus death tolls. 

  
 

The second billboard shows Kushner beaming as he stands next to a quote which reads: '[New Yorkers] are going to suffer and that's their problem.'

 
 

On Friday, Ivanka and Jared's lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, penned a letter to The Lincoln Project and its members, including Kellyanne Conway's husband George, threatening to file a lawsuit if the ads were not taken down. 

'Of course, Mr. Kushner never made any such statement, Ms. Trump never made any such gesture, and the Lincoln Project's representations that they did are an outrageous and shameful libel,' Kasowtiz stated.

'If these billboard ads are not immediately removed, we will sue you for what will doubtless be enormous compensatory and punitive damages,' the attorney vowed.

Zelenskyy ‘not afraid’ after Putin’s moves

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said his countrymen ‘are not afraid’ after Russia moved to recognise the independence of two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine and hours later said it would deploy troops there to “maintain peace”. An urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council took place on the deepening Ukraine crisis as the US said the announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin was an “unprovoked violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”. Western countries have repeatedly warned Russia not to officially recognise the separatist regions in Donetsk and Luhansk. Russia has been massing its forces around Ukraine’s borders for weeks, raising concern among the US and other Western governments that it might be planning to invade the country.
